Golf book "Getting To Know The Rules" [ENGLISH VERSION]

The book consists of three main parts:

Part One

Introduces readers to the basic ideas of the Rules, presenting the etiquette and rules for playing safely on the golf course. Part of this section is also devoted to the issue of maintaining the correct pace of play and how important this issue is in an age of increasing popularity of golf.

 

Part two

In it, the most important and difficult to interpret rules are discussed together with their practical application. The author has prepared her own drawings, tables, graphics and lists for which special respect is due. The content is further enhanced by official graphics from the official version of the Rules (for which the author has received permission from the R&A itself). All this is done in order to explain the most important points as vividly as possible - and also to make them memorable and applicable to real-life golf.

Part three

Chapter three was also devoted towards the end to the formats of play - stroke play, match play, Stableford. The proper breakdown of net and gross is discussed. There is also a useful glossary of key terms and a summary of situations that most commonly occur on the golf course. All of this makes it easier to remember the issues presented - and at the end, a knowledge test will help you test your strengths in real-world interpretation of the Rules :)

 

A few words about the author

Agnieszka Jakubowska is a former PZG judge, a lawyer by profession and a golfer by avocation. Since 2009, she has spent almost every free moment on the golf course - also achieving good results in sports competition. Her special field of interest is the Rules of Golf and their practical application and understanding by golfers. She was a referee for the Polish Golf Association from 2012 to 2016, passing the R&A Level 3 Examination in the Rules of Golf at St. Andrew's in 2015.
